Climbing the improv food chain · Level II improv workshops start next Thursday. I"m very excited to be taking part, but already nervous about the sixth week of classes: the performance on stage in front of real people!

Tuesday, April 30

On to Level II · I didn't get picked up for Comedy Sportz' players' workshop (the step before getting on mainstage), but then, I didn't expect to be, so nothing lost there. My next stop in the improv food chain is the advanced (level II) workshop, which many of us from last weekend's intensive will likely be attending.
Falling on your sword can be painful · My boss at Metro Traffic left the company yesterday. He wasn't fired, but his resignation wasn't entirely voluntary. The problems we've had with our helicopters (culminating in the crash on the 11th) led to discordant relations with our affiliates, and someone had to take the fall. I'm sorry Jim's gone, though. He's a great guy and will certainly land on his feet somewhere (probably Atlanta) very soon. Our interim director of operations, Steve Rockwell, seems like a nice guy.

Sunday, April 28

The Adventures of Captain Wedgie · Day II of Level I workshops! I had the most fun I've had in a long time today. Today's lessons involved endowments and scene work. We played Story, Comic Strip, Zoom Schwartz, SuperHeroes (I was Minty Fresh Breath Man, and Kerri, Rob used Captain Wedgie as an example endowment!), 185, and Doors, to name those I can remember right now. I probably won't go directly to player workshops, but will definitely go to Level II when it starts!
